There’s just over a month left for pupils to enter Lantra’s Careers Competition. With prizes including a tablet computer, e-reader, digital camera and £250 of training vouchers, this is one competition not to be missed!
What’s it all about?
Open to pupils in years 7 to 13, Lantra’s Careers Competition requires students research a career in the land-based and environmental sector and create promotional material to inspire other young people.
There are hundreds of diverse, important and interesting careers within the sector in industries such as agriculture, animal care, forestry, floristry, horticulture and environmental conservation.
What do students have to do?
Students can use any creative mediums to demonstrate their findings. Here’s a few ideas:
- A short documentary film
- Audio visual presentation
- Illustrated case study
- Story board
- Information pack.
The Careers Competition is a great way to introduce young people to the world of work and also provides the opportunity for students to enhance key skills including communication, ICT and problem solving!
Make sure you register your interest by 30 November 2014. You’ll then be sent full details of the next steps.
Winners will be announced on 31 January 2015 and details of the winning entries will be posted on Lantra’s Careers website by 28 February 2015.
